Argentinian low-cost airline Flybondi has expanded to Asuncion, Paraguay and Punta del Este, Uruguay, its first international destinations, about a year after launching operations.
Flights from El Palomar Airport to Asuncion departed on December 17. The service departs El Palomar at 19:45 and arrives in Asuncion at 20:45. The return trip departs at 21:30 and arrives at El Palomar at 23:25. Flights operate four times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Flybondi’s services to Punta del Este, which will operate from El Palomar and Córdoba, will operate seasonally. Flights from El Palomar will operate on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Flights from Córdoba will leave on Mondays and Sundays.
“We have set ourselves the challenge of reaching Uruguay and here we are. Today we are a company of almost 600 employees that already has more than 800 thousand passengers transported and in January we will have reached one million. We are analyzing our next international destinations, with main interest in Brazil, Peru and Bolivia,” said Esteban Tossutti, Director of Government Relations at Flybondi.
Córdoba-Punta del Este services will start at $113. Flybondi will compete with Aerolineas Argentinas, who also flies seasonally between Córdoba on Punta del Este, on the route.
The airline will celebrate carrying its millionth passenger next month. The airline wants to expand to new markets to appeal to a wider scope of passengers.
Flybondi will operate Boeing 737-800s in a single class. The planes have 186 seats.
Flybondi has five 737-800s in its fleet. It operates to 13 destinations across Argentina.
