On Tuesday 16 October, Norwegian Argentina, a subsidiary of Norwegian Air Shuttle, began its first routes from the Aeroparque de Buenos Aires.

The first flights flew from Buenos Aires to Cordoba and Mendoza with aBoeing 737-800NG leased from Norwegian Air Shuttle. The plane has capacity for 189 passengers.

Norwegian Argentina expects to receive four more 737-800s from Boeing by the end of this year and another 10 by the end of 2019.

“This is a great milestone that will contribute to increasing connectivity, stimulating tourism and creating thousands of jobs in this country,” said Norwegian Air Argentina President OLE Christian Melhus. “From today and for many years, we will see Norwegian planes with the iconic red nose flying through the beautiful Argentinean blue skies.”

Norwegian Argentina will start flights to Puerto Iguazu and Neuquén on November 19. Bariloche and Salta flights begin December 3.
