A Pegasus Airlines plane that skidded off the runway after landing in Trabzon, Turkey on January 13th was lifted away from its position on a cliff just feet from the Black Sea by two enormous cranes, a fitting end to the saga that covered world headlines last week.
The Boeing 737-800 skidded off the icy runway with 162 passengers and six crew on the night of the 13th, and slid down a cliff adjacent to the runway. The plane’s wheels ended up slowing the plane down in the mud, preventing it from sliding into the sea.
