United Airlines has announced that it will receive another order for 24 additional 737 MAX and 4 more 777-300er (Extend Range) aircraft. This order is worth USD$4.5 billion at list prices.

The airline has historically relied ton Boeing as the backbone of its domestic and international fleets. United is one of the 100 customers to order the 737 MAX, making it the fastest selling aircraft in Boeing’s. The aircraft has received 5,000 orders since its launch.

“United Airlines has been instrumental to the phenomenal success of the Boeing 737 and 777 programs over the years. We are honored by United’s continued confidence in our people and our airplanes and services,” said Ihssane Mounir, Senior Vice President of Commercial Sales & Marketing for Boeing. “We are proud to again extend our long-standing partnership with United Airlines with these latest orders.”

The 737 MAX has a leading performance and reliability record. It offers operators more range and 14% better fuel efficiency compared to the 737NG.

Meanwhile, the 777 has become the best selling twin-aisle jet in history with over 2,000 orders. United pushed the 777 over the 2,000 order mark in December 2018. It is the most reliable twin-aisle jet flying with a reliability rate of 99.5%. The 777-300ER can seat up to 386 passengers with a 3 class configuration.
