Makala Pendley missing

A 29-year-old mother and her seven young children have been reported missing from Indianapolis, raising concern among local authorities and community organizations as details about the case remain limited.

According to information shared by The AWARE Foundation, Inc. and other missing persons networks, Makala Pendley and her children were last seen on February 23, 2026.

The children have been identified as Azrael Jude Butler, Polaris Jude Butler, Earthum Jude Butler, Orion Jude Butler, Aubrielle Oriana Butler, Joseph Jude Butler, and Nicola Jude Butler, ranging in age from just 1 year old to 12 years old.

The case has also been listed with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children under case number 2078855, confirming that it is an active missing persons investigation.

Authorities have not publicly released many details about the circumstances surrounding their disappearance, including whether a vehicle was involved or where the family may have been heading.

Law enforcement, including the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, is urging anyone with credible information to come forward.

Officials stress that even small details could play a critical role in locating the family safely.

The lack of clear information has led to widespread speculation online, with some suggesting the possibility of a parental dispute or custody-related situation.

Others have raised concerns about potential involvement with child protective services or the possibility that the mother may have left voluntarily with her children.

However, none of these claims have been officially confirmed, and authorities have not indicated a specific theory at this time.

Community members and advocacy groups are instead emphasizing the importance of focusing on the safe recovery of the family rather than speculation.

Missing persons advocates note that cases involving multiple children can be complex and sensitive, often involving legal, domestic, or safety considerations that are not immediately disclosed to the public.

What remains clear is the urgency of the situation. Seven young children missing alongside their mother present a significant concern, regardless of the underlying circumstances.

Experts often stress that time is critical in missing persons cases, particularly when young children are involved, as their safety and well-being can depend on swift action.

Posts circulating on social media have called for increased awareness, encouraging people across Indiana and beyond to stay alert.

Flyers and digital alerts have been shared widely in hopes that someone may recognize the family or recall seeing them around the time they were last reported.

At this stage, officials continue to classify the case as an active investigation. There has been no confirmation of foul play, but authorities have also not ruled out any possibilities.

The absence of updates has only added to public concern.

Anyone who may have seen Makala Pendley or her children, or who has information about their whereabouts, is urged to contact the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department at 317-327-3811 immediately.

As the search continues, the focus remains on one outcome: ensuring that Makala Pendley and all seven children are located and confirmed safe.
