The sources confirmed that a dedicated student and talented athlete, Max Sahinoglu, died following a tragic car accident.
Max Sahinoglu was a student athlete who represented Phillips Exeter Academy as a member of the boys’ varsity soccer team.
He was part of the Class of 2027 and wore jersey number 9 for the team.
Originally from Barrington, Illinois, Sahinoglu joined the program at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire, where he competed at the varsity level in one of the most respected high school athletic environments in the United States.
As a forward, he contributed to the attacking side of the game and focused on creating scoring opportunities for his team.
One of his record performances includes attempts on goal during a game against Belmont Hill School in September 2025.
Max Sahinoglu Passed Away After Crashing His BMW at High Speed Into A Tree
Max Sahinoglu, a student athlete at Phillips Exeter Academy, tragically died on Monday, March 9, 2026, after he crashed his BMW at high speed into a tree, which caused the engine to detach from the vehicle, in Deer Park.
An autopsy performed Tuesday showed that Max died as a result of blunt force injuries from a vehicle crash, as per Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Lake Zurich Fire Rescue Department responded around 9:45 a.m. Monday, in the area of Ela Road and Long Grove Road in Deer Park, for a vehicle crash with injuries.
Multiple 911 callers responded to the crash, and one person said that Max was unresponsive and not breathing at the scene.
Lake County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli said Sheriff’s deputies arrived and located a BMW sedan with damage.
The reports showed that BMW was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Ela Road.
However, no other vehicle was involved in the crash, and Max was the sole occupant of his car.
The road was closed from Long Grove Road to Cuba Road during the investigation.
Several close friends and relatives have offered their heartfelt condolences and sent their prayers to Max’s family to stay strong in this difficult time.

Max Sahinoglu Is Survived By His Parents And One Brother
As per the source, Max was born in 2009 to his mother, Jennifer Ceran Sahinoglu, and his father, whose name has not been revealed.
Jennifer’s Facebook handle showcases that she went to Menomonee Falls High School and later graduated from Benedictine University in 1999.
Currently, Jennifer is mourning the tragic loss of her son, Max Sahinoglu.
Max is also survived by his brother, Alex Sahinoglu, who also plays football at the Phillips Exeter Athletics.
